You don’t want to plant your tree too close to any surrounding structures. Consider the impact a new tree can have on your house AND your neighbor’s house.

Site Conditions

Size: Plant according to the trees mature size

Sunlight Exposure: Which of the following does your tree require?

  • Full Sun: 6-8 hours of direct sunlight

  • Part Shade/Part Sun: 4-6 hours of sun exposure

  • Full Shade: Less than 4 hours of sun exposure

Soil Moisture: Water needs. Check soil 2 inches below the surface.

  • Moisture Loving: Consistently damp or submerged

  • Drought Tolerant: Survives of thrives with minimal water

If the soil moisture is at the extremes, plant accordingly, otherwise don’t overthink it.
